in all of my 23 years of walking the earth there is one thing that i have not only seen but experienced. it is the lack of kindness shown by others to others. i know i sound like a hypocrite because i am unkind just as anybody else, but it is something i am trying to change in myself. i don't know why i am writing this because all you really need to do is read the talk the virtue of kindness by elder joseph b. wirthlin, but this topic has been on my mind lately. genuine kindness starts in the heart and is expressed by the way we live our lives. we can make judgments about others based on what we see or hear, or we can look at the example of our Savior Jesus Christ and be kind to everyone regardless of the circumstances we or they might be in. we can only control our own kindness and the way we treat others. my wish and hope is that i can become a kinder person each and every day and that others will see that and know that it comes from my heart.
