weekend cinema overload

Movies aren't everything. However, this weekend they were or seemed to be everything to me. And heck, I still have a full day Sunday to watch more movies if I desire. It started on Friday. I went over to eat dinner with my friends Melissa, Savannah, and Lynzi. We enjoyed these amazing tacos. After the grub, we went to red box and got a movie. Julie and Julia was the one Savannah picked out so that is the one we put in the dvd player. It was a fairly entertaining movie. It was funny and was about food; the two most important factors I judge a movie by. The movie ended; I departed. At 10:00 pm on a Friday evening, it was still pretty early. I went over to my friend Dan's apartment. He was talking on the phone while I walked in so I watched a little bit of the Cav's game. Shortly after 11:00, we decided our stomachs needed nourishment. Frozen pizza it was. Macy's was our destination. We carefully selected the "naturally rising" kind and headed home. With the pizza in the oven it was time to select our movie. Dan's roommates who had recently came home helped us pick out the perfect film. The Saint. It had been years since I had seen it and I vaguely remembered that I enjoyed it. Dan hadn't seen it. It was such a good film, much better than I thought. That night ended, only two movies. Today (well technically yesterday, but we will say today) I went with my roommate Sam to see Pan's Labyrinth in the International Cinema here at BYU. It was so captivating that I slept through the first hour. As I arose to watch the last hour, I became quite confused and disturbed at what I was witnessing. Luckily for me I guess, I only saw that one hour. Finally, I concluded the evening watching the hit movie, 500 Days of Summer. I watched it with my friends Lindsey and Megan. I had heard how great and amazing it was and was looking forward to confirm those notions. As I watched it, I realized why I sometimes do not like girls. And that in and of itself was enough for me to not like it. I was blessed with a great weekend of a variety of cinematic experiences. Even though I don't like every movie I see, it is good to see those movies every once and a while. I survived.
