Perfect Hostess
This weekend an adventure was was had in Vernal, UT. Whenever someone comes into your home, you do your very best to make your visitors feel welcome and comfortable. I have been the beneficiary of many wonderful hosts and hostess's. My friend Zack, who resides in Vernal, invited some friends to stay at his place and have a weekend of fun. We made the journey and when we drove up to his I knew that I was going to be in for an amazing experience. We got settled in and starting making pizzas. No sight of his mom up to this point. As the pizzas finished cooking in the oven, she appeared. She genuinely asked for everyones name and about themselves. She remembered me as the guy with the deep voice. After enjoying the amazing pizza cuisine, cake and ice cream followed. I gladly helped myself to some ice cream, but held off on the cake for the moment. Later in the evening, around 3:00 am or so, I graciously inhaled 3 pieces of the most divine cake ever. The frosting was amazing. I realized, Zack's mom (as well as Zack cause he is a great host too) had done all of this work and preparation for us. I felt so at home and welcome. I did not want to leave. The next morning, more ingredients needed to be purchased at the grocery store. As she announced we would be going to Walmart, my insides became all warm. We went to Walmart! It was the best. Not to mention that before Walmart, she made the most heavenly tasting eggs that had ever touched my lips and tongue. She made ANOTHER cake, basically because she heard I had loved the first one so much. Lastly, she let me slide down her stairs on a sleeping bag, even though she knew I was a little too big for it. It was one of the better weekends I had in a while. There is not enough room to write or words to express the gratitude I have for the wonderful hostess I a was fortunate enough to meet this weekend. Thank you.
