Rude Neighbors

A scripture from the New Testament has taken up much of my thoughts lately. The Lord, answering a question that was designed to stump him, commanded the inquirers to love their neighbor as themselves. How do we obey this commandment? First of all, this commandment implies that we first love ourselves. The commandment that preceded this one, that of loving The Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind, helps us love ourselves. By loving God, we must come to know Him, better than we ever have before. As we come to love God, our relationship with him enhances. When we fully realize our relationship with our Heavenly Father and His infinite and profound love for us, we will not only love Him more, but consequently, ourselves more. As love for ourselves becomes part of our lives, loving our neighbor as ourselves will become rewarding. Loving others means putting their needs in front of our own, which is perfectly exemplified by the Savior in His life. I hope and wish I can make this model a part of my life and love my neighbors.
