Jesse Cake
Food has always been one of my greatest strengths (hence the size of my stomach). I will eat almost anything that is placed before me. This past weekend when accompanied my friends to Vernal, we ate extremely well. One of my favorite foods during that trip was the cake(s). I enjoyed a to die for mouth watering cake with divine frosting. With this cake, and for that matter, any cake, I found only one way to truly eat it. Only using hands, hands that were specially built for eating. This weekend, we stayed up late, like 4:00 am late. At around roughly 2:00 am, we (my friends Adam, Hannah, and I) grew an appetite. This cake was left out on the counter, sitting there, just tempting us, daring us to partake of its goodness. I cannot back down from a challenge. Without even thinking, I reached down with my hands and dug in, like a man. I felt so warm and fuzzy inside. Adam and Hannah watched for a second, then irrupted into laughter. I guess they found my method of eating cake entertaining. Fast forward to today. I was over at Hannah's apartment, talking and enjoying the company. 11:30 rolls around and I start packing my stuff to depart for the evening. The door opens. Adam and Hannah walk through the door. They do not come alone however. With them is a dish, a cake dish. As it is lowered, the words "Jesse Cake" come apparent to my sight. They made me a cake. This thoughtful and kind act touched my heart. They are great friends to me and this cake sealed the friendship solid. We all know the real reason though that they made this cake. To see me it with my hands. I dove right in, just as I had in Vernal. Adam, with his unmistakable laugh, let out a good one. It was a great evening. One of the best I have had in a while. I owe it all to my friends Adam and Hannah, and to the Jesse Cake.
