there is nothing as heart breaking as ordering something and not finishing it. i felt that pain a few weeks back when i dropped that one taco and wasn't able to complete my ten tacos. i had an inner desire and drive to redeem myself and eat ten tacos, no more, no less. eric and i made our late evening journey to jack in the box. i knew all along i was going to get the ten tacos, but i purposefully didn't outwardly express it. this was an internal struggle that only i could deal with. as we got to the drive thru eric was set on his usual #6 combo with large curly fries and large dr pepper. as nolan (who now works there and took over shane's position as we found out the week before because he got fired) asked if there was anything else i politely asked if they had tacos. he gave the affirmative. i then asked for ten tacos and he was quiet and then stuttered back "uh te-ten tacos? okay" i also added a small order of the jalepeno poppers for good measure and taste. i was waiting with such anticipation and excitement in that drive thru. once our food was given to us i sped off in the night. i ate my jalepeno poppers on the way back to work to help prepare myself for the taco massacre that was soon to occur. i sat down in the break room and ever so slowly and carefully took out the first taco and placed it in my mouth. it was divine. with each taco that followed i made sure that i had my hands on it so it couldn't escape. as i had my tenth taco in hand, my face was filled with ultimate joy. i did it. complete and total redemption was mine, and mine alone, and i felt like i had won something that day, although i wasn't competing against anyone else, i came out victorious.
